Before the Arsenal fiasco, I had half an eye on him for Spurs.
I see now we're after Scott Parker.
Similar type, bit older, less controversial, more expensive.
I'm not convinced, Footballer of the Year and all.
Especially if he's being signed to replace the 'not for sale under any circumstances' Modric.
And if he isn't, we're going to have a second squad of midfielders this season.
This is the way

Yep, can't quite see the logic there :?
He's not a replacement for Modric that's for sure, totally different type of player.
You do seem to have an abundance of midfield players, do you reckon 'arry will lend us a couple for sunday's game?

That's exactly my point, they're not from the same planet.

When I saw this post I thought you'd said we have an 'ambulance' of midfield players. Not a jinx, I hope...

Taraabt is apparently a hothead that we have already, though to his credit Warnock appears to know how to manage him. Possibly he can do the same with Barton. We got Dyer on a free too - it could be a real mental dressing room. :guns:

On the positive side we're after SWP from Man City if Football 365 etc are to be believed & Luke Young from Villa. Beginning to look more like a Prem League squad with those additions.

I presume when Nasri signs for Citeh,he will replace Milner ??
Can't seem to find any comment on this; no-one have an opinion how Man City will set up their midfield? Being English I'd prefer Barry & Milner played, Adam Johnson didn't get that much game time before Nasri arrived so this you'd assume will hurt his England chances.

The only problem with Barry and Milner is they are both a bit crap. Barry especially.

That's quite disgraceful and woefully inaccurate.

Because you left out Johnson.

Well at least Johnson is good going forward.

I remember the special one brought him back from loan at the start of one season, he started, got caught in possession in a dangerous position and was promptly shipped out again, never to return!

Going back to Barton, personally, I don't like him, either as a person or player. But I take BaaBaa's point that he would improve many squads. It says much about the guy, not to mention his whining tweets, that there was only one club interested. He'll have a shock when he sees the area around Loftus Rd. I bet there's nowt like it in geordie land.

Think DM was talking about Adam not Glen Caller. Glen Johnson is actually a fantastic fullback, his defensive limitations are overplayed by the media.

I see Chelsea scraped past Norwich where as Liverpool thrashed a good Bolton side.

Sure he's right, but a little hypocritical, jumping ship as the mood takes, frenzied buying, leaving clubs in hock and he's not known as the 'bung master' for nothing!

It's not really for him to comment on though is it?

He should keep his opinions on other clubs transfer deals and players motivations to himself.
The Rentagob!

A great couple of games today anyway, good luck to Arsenal and Spurs.
