Some of the modern ones have a button flush, but they aren't that commonplace :|

On the subject of parking, why would you reverse into car park bay? :?
Just pull in & reverse out has to be the most practical solution if you're shopping :?

It's by far the most common form of parking in UK car parks :|

I hate places that have those devices, they seem to wash all the flavour off those large complimentary mints they leave out for you.

I think it depends on how clear your view of the exit is. I often reverse into a Market Village underground car park space because it is easier to see other cars or hazards, without having to crick the neck. It's hard to see when you've got an SUV either side of your Reliant Robin.

When I have that problem I spill some water on my shirt above the wet pants area. That way it looks like I spilled a drink on myself.

Back to the thread topic. I thought they reversed into spaces to entertain farangs.

I'd like to know why this kind of stuff never shows up in my "latest Hua Hin topics" list......been on the forum for a couple of hours in the last few days and have found lots of stuff that's really interesting but I only run into them by accident.

The one about the school kids dressed up as Nazis was one I would have been very interested in had I seen it, plus this one which in contrast seems like a lot of fun.

What am I missing?

As far as I know the following sub-forums never show on that list as they're nothing to do with Hua Hin or Thailand:
Foo
Current Affairs
Entertainment Zone
Sports Fans

I think it has been mentioned many times before that using the view new posts since last visit link is the best way to catch up on what you've missed.

I agree SJ, most annoying.

I rememer those cars Mr Plum, we called them something else though. I was only young then though. :thumb:

Back to thread, I guess im lazy because I drive straight into car park spaces most of the time. I only reverse in if it looks tight to get back out again. I try not to hold people up, if I can avoid it.

I very much doubt it Jimbob, as I don't think they're encouraged (or taught) to ask the question 'Why?'.

The reversing question (noitseuq  ) has, surprisingly, brought up some mixed responses. I took my driving test 32 years ago, and can't remember being told to reverse into a parking space in a car park. Mr.VS, who's 'slightly' older than me, took his test 41 years ago - he agrees with me.

You boys do have fun in the loo, don't you? Us ladies have a different dilemma: 'To sit, or not to sit - that is the question'. When the seats are cracked in half, or have shoe-prints on them, it's hover time.

Reversing around a corner has been part of the driving test for years, or was not sure if it is now. Reversing into a parking space has been taught but is not part of the test. All that applies to the UK.

Talking about reversing, the late 2012 or 2013 Ford Focus to be built here will have a hands off automatic parallel parking system. I can't wait to see that baby operate.....how many bounces off things it gets before it screams and quits, how many minutes it takes to get into a slot. I think Toyota or their Lexus branch (not in Thailand) already offers it, but I've never read about success/failure in real day to day operation. Pete

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner! The last sentence.

(Hint: Not everybody has been to, much less learned to drive in, the UK.)

I often wonder what the deal is about backing into parking spaces.

A behavior not unlike lemmings walking off cliffs....
