The new Marrakesh condos.

Post by exbrit »

Can one of you locals advise me if the new Marrakesh development is nasty or nice? They have some opening rates which are not bad, but is construction finished? Anybody seen inside?( I'm coming in January for a month.)

Back in July 2011 the north wing was still under construction. Also lots of the other apartments are unfinished waiting for buyers. So you might get some noise if the apartment next to you gets finished. The elevators were being used by the construction workers. Also the pool's water level was about 10 to 15cm below level due to the pumps being turned off.

And even once it will be finished, the built-in airconditioners are noisy as hell.

We didn't like it at all and had to change to another location after two days.

imho it looks shite because of the colour, been watching it being built when at Sport villa and the build also looked a bit flimsy, could be wrong.

Hi Exbrit, We stayed at the Marrakesh for two weeks in September. Most of the construction was complete however there was a lot of "upgrading" taking place and the hotel was under full construction. I also toured the facility looking at several 1 and 2 bedroom condos. The 1 BR is way two small. The 2 BR is Ok. They are nice, quality a 8 out of 10, but I have no Thai comparative experience. We enjoyed our stay. It was nice to have such a large pool. Tried the slide but a bit too shallow for adults to use without bottoming out. haha. Also the "jaccuzi" was Ok. The large lap pool was the best. they do not open all of the pools during the week. The clientele is mostly BKK Thais who come for weekends so on Friday they turn on the fountains and open all of the pools then close on Monday. We found it very convenient to the sea and beach. Was nice to take morning walks. You need transportation, either tuktuks or rent two wheeler to get to HH main or the Market Village. If you are looking to buy, they are over priced IMHO. Many better deals out there. Hope this helps, feel free to ask any more questions.
