I cant say enough about the value of HHAD in situations like this!!
The spouse and I will go to the police station tomorrow.
JD this is a renewal so I dont expect the tests and I have not changed anything in the past year ( other than getting one year older. . .so I kinda see why they want a doctor's cert) and I wonder why they were not so demanding when I got the original license. We didnt show a tambien bahn at that time or any other proof of residence . .just my 90 day paper in my passport and my visa.
Anyway, let you know what happens. . .it might help others in the same boat.
I am still trying to get my Thai driving licence renewed! As I posted in the other forum on this topic, I have to go to the Cha am police station.( Where is the police station in Cha Am anyway?) and I will make a fresh attempt sometime next week.
I am not finding this easy by any means but I am not ready to give up. I have several things to prove where I live, mail should do it I would think plus I have a notarized document from the embassy for another purpose but with my address. . .but it is from a year ago.
Getting the tambien baan is much more complicated and it involves my spouse getting a new ID card and a trip to some other government department so that probably wont happen anytime soon.
So I am back to square one and paying hefty bribes if I want to renew my Thai drivers license. I have a feeling that 500 baht might have gotten me the renewal last week and that the clerk I went to was just being a jerk.
My Thai driver's license expires this Saturday after five years.
Can someone please give me updated information about how to renew it?
I know where to go in Pranburi.
I currently have a Non-Imm B visa & a work permit. Should I take these along with my copy of my passport? I'm guessing I'll need the medical certificate?
Proof of residence, can I use wife's tabian baan?
Also can I renew it the day before it expires?
