First a bit of info. from Wikipedia.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes behind the Earth so that the Earth blocks the Sun's
rays from striking the Moon.
This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so,
with the Earth in the middle.
Hence, a lunar eclipse can only occur the night of a full moon.
On Saturday Dec. 10 this phenomena can be observed from Hua Hin.
Here's the timetable exclusively as seen from the latitude of Hua Hin:
Penumbral Eclipse (first touch) begins 18:34 (or 6:34 pm if you like).
Partial Eclipse Begins 19:46
Total Eclipse Begins 21:06
Mid. Eclipse 21:32
Total Eclipse Ends 21:57
Partial Eclipse Ends 23:18
Penumbral Eclipse Ends 00:30
Why not bring your camera and take a few shots?

Silly question maybe but how will this look at night time?

Dark!
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

It's called a blood moon. If conditions are perfect it should turn a dark red colour.

Oh dear - prepare for the banging of many dustbin lids...

And watch out for Vampires during this event. They love it as it freezes their arch enemies (werewolves) in their tracks when the moon goes dark!

We have a small tree in a pot that my partner tells me is good protection against vampires that I can lend you if you have a problem in that department.hhfarang wrote:And watch out for Vampires during this event. Its Amys birthday.....best I dont tell her as Thais think these are bad omens dont they?
Incidentally, any moon watchers round town are welcome to drop in and have a beer with her....there should be tons of free nosh about as usual. Just dont mention the eclipse....she is very superstitious.

Sandman, those superstitions can be turned around with a few of the right words... you being the silver tongued devil you are should be able to convince her that it is good luck to have a lunar eclipse on her birthday!
