Beware at Exchange booths

Post by usual suspect »

Ever had a bit of a 'blonde moment'? :? (sorry Mags  )
I changed 60 quid at the Thai Farmer's Booth next to the supermarket opp. Surin hotel this morn..
..Now when I've changed big lumps of cash I have my calculator with me and my reading-glasses..today I had neither.. :(

Only when I'd got home did I realise I'd trusted the cashier there and signed accordingly.
What the girl had done was given me the relevant amount of Baht in exchange for 60 Euros..
..So I only got 40.something for each of my Pounds! :(

On returning the girls in the supermarket said she had been 'on her lunch' for 2+ hours now..mmm? :guns:

SO..Please read the paper they pass you BEFORE signing, & IF you have a large amount to change
DO take a calculator with you. Don't be like me..dumb! :banghead:

Tsk tsk US - you mean you can't multiply in your head? Even blondes can do that! :naughty:

It might have been an innocent mistake, or a clever ploy..

But in the latter case, she'd probably repeat the trick endlessly, politely correcting the errors when people noticed and complained (so it didn't get back to her boss..) - and relying on the goodly percentage of tourists who simply don't check when they change their cash.

..it's also possible that the girl had made the opposite mistake earlier in the day, and needed to balance her till - hence the long lunch break to avoid you later..
I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I shall be sober and you will still be ugly...
