Buksi,

Great photos! Can you list the equipment used and settings to get those shots. As I said, I was using an older (4mp) camera but it did have a 12x zoom and I tried shots with every manual and automatic setting on the damned thing and couldn't get any decent photos. I did ok with the full moon, but once the eclipse started there was just not enough light.

The best I could do:

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

From here it looked just like that first photo from Buksi except the opposite corner was missing as the eclipse finished.

Nikon D70s
300mm Sigma telephoto lens
Tripod
Self Timer Mode (ten second delay so that the rig is still when the shot is taken)
ISO 1600
Shutter delay for about 3 seconds (varied this depending on the light)

I should have taken a few with a lower ISO setting to get rid of the grainy effect.
