As for myself Im currently using a Boxer Tiger RS 250.
They come with mixed reports and its Thai built but for the price its good fun and fast enough to get out of trouble!

The new CBR 250 looks excellent value. A couple of the guys on the forum purchased recently. I wonder how there getting on??

Also like the ERN 650 beautifull bike.

72k baht for the Tiger Boxer 250 RS, according to Motorcycle Thailand. If I was in the market, I'd definitely have a look.

Second hand Boxer's are very cheap to source. 1 to 2 yrs old 40 to 50k. Thai Police ride the 200cc model so pretty reliable!

Spares from BKK very cheap 2 days free delivery! Very light and easy to ride. Put a bigger sprocket on the rear and nothing will catch you pulling away from traffic lights. Great fun bike!

Obviously the CBR 250 is a much better bike and represents great value!!

Shame they stopped making the CBR 400 great bike!

Buksida: Yes that would be appreciated. Even the new CBR150 looks like a steal. Last June the Honda dealer had a Year old model for sale at 55K, very tempting. Looks like the same frame or similar to the
250, maybe a little heavy for a small engine?

Any improvement on the buzzy cbr 150?

There are rumours that Honda Thailand is introducing a brand new CBR400 to the Thai market this year.

Another rumour is that the new Phantom will be 250cc using the engine from the CBR250.

I had a look at the Lifan 250cc V-twin cruiser last week. 78,000 baht. The dealership is just out of town heading north (opposite Index). Has anyone bought one of these or know anyone who has?

The riding position is excellent, upright. You need to change the seat for something harder then its fine. Even two up it feels safe and stable!

Initially I wanted an old CBR 150 but the Tiger came up for sale locally in HH so I grabbed it.

Its the best 50K I ve spent in along while. That said
I will more than likely upgrade to a CBR 250 at some stage, again good value!

There are rumours that Honda Thailand is introducing a brand new CBR400 to the Thai market this year.

That would be cool if it comes to fruit.
I think they'd have to raise the bike tax threshold for cc bikes to 400ccs (currently at 250ccs) otherwise it'll be unviable to sell it on the market.

Although my bike is legit with green book and the plates, it probably came into Siam (many moons ago) as a grey import before it got 'legalised'
This is partly why the 400s are seldom seen for the most part.

I'm enjoying this thread and Buksida's report on the 250.
Before I came here big bikes were my main means of transport for some years, and I've been getting the urge again recently. I was (and still am) quite tempted by the 600cc Steed advertised on here recently (for I think my belly would require a more upright position these days!), but fortunately don't have 90k lying around at the moment. But that does strike me as a decent price.

I'd be very interested to read more reports from people regularly riding something with a bit more, erm... gravitas... than your average Click or Wave and general experiences of the benefits and drawbacks of a bigger bike.

Not in Thailand, but I bought a Harley Fat Boy a while back and really enjoy riding it. It's 1450 cc's so good power, but a lot of weight. It does make a smooth ride and putting Mrs Migrant on the back makes no difference at all, not that she's very big anyway!!
