Thai wife going to UK for holiday

Post by nij400 »

My Thai wife needs what type of visa for a 3 week stay in the UK. What forms do we need and what will it cost. We want to apply ourselves , and need to know what we need to do. She has her own business and a truck . How much money should she show in her bank account ? i do not have a house in the UK so will she need a sponser in the UK.
Any info greatly appreciated.

Taken mine 4 times.
we showed proof we live together in thailand.
Her tabian ban ??
copied her bankbook and passport and my passport (she had 50k in it)
ticket booking
just go to the british embassy website in bkk and fill out the form online, make your appointment, print the form and take her to wireless rd.

All info u need is there.

they will interview her and fingerprint her but no real dramas so long as your serious .

im new so cant post the link but just google british embassy bangkok

It's a while since my wife visited the UK, but applications for holiday/family visit visas are not submitted at the Embassy any more. Nor is there usually an interview.
As mentioned above, take a look here http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/count ... %20English for the relevant information.
I'm sure others will give more detailed reports.

I still don't think there will be an interview for a tourist/family visit visa unless we're talking about a Thai person looking over the application form and supporting documents at the Visa Application Centre.
Applicants don't get anywhere near The Embassy now unless making an appeal in which case there would probably be an interview there.
You track the application on the internet and eventually you'll be told that the passport is ready for collection. You won't know if the application was successful until you go back to the VAC and collect the passport.
