Be prepared to have a big wad of cash.

The newly opened and virtually empty Ch????? Market, which is kind of tacked onto the night market are renting units for 40,000bt per month. I'd imagine that units in the main market go for several times that cost.

The big problem (well, one of many) you have, of course, is that (as far as I'm aware) there are no units available. They all seem occupied. The market is packed out at the moment so I don't see that anybody will be ready to leave in a hurry.

Also, if you haven't already, make sure you do a thorough investigation into running a business out here.

Not only are they all occupied (or certainly were last month) they are all - with the possible exception of a small cafe - Thai owned. I can't see any of them being willing to sell given the high level of trade down there together with undoubtedly higher profit margins than any farang could hope for.
That 'annex' development mentioned by Pleng was - I think - the old Night Bazaar. The owners made a great attempt with the place, but despite it's proximity to the main drag for some reason it never took off. One problem with it IMO (if it is indeed the same place) is the very dark narrow access from the main road which would be impossible to widen.

Surely your "falang friend" should be able to give you some good advice then on the best process to follow?

Yes correct, the only thing I'm asking here is if someone have information concerning a restaurant/place that is for rent, not the process.

Then walk the block and ask

You are not going to see it in free ads
You are not going to get info from forum members

Leg work is the only answer and you need to speak Thai or do it through a Thai intermediary

Best of luck Let us know the outcome

As you walk up the hill, on the upper portion of the night market, left side, about 2/3rds of the way up there is a space that is currently almost empty. There's a noodle cart out front, a few tables just outside of the building, and a couple of fridges in the back--that's it. Don't know if it's for rent, but it certainly didn't appear used....

I think that might be a storeage space for tables etc at night. Still - as Richard says - the best thing is to hoof it and ask around. Also in any situation like that to look aound daytime as well as night, when things look very different, and to spend time at each restaurant in turn at night will help to give a good idea of the trade going on down there, and how it all works.

Preferably, make sure you get a Thai to do that for you - the price will certainly end up being lower
