Wholsale Alcohol shop at the north end of town

Post by hhfarang »

A while ago someone mentioned to me that there was a wholesale liquor store somewhere at the north end of town (Sois 1 to 10) that supplies a lot of restaurants and bars, but I don't remember any more about it. Does anyone know of this place, what it is called, where exactly it is, and if they sell to walk-in customers? They (supposedly) carry some brands that I want that are not available at the liquor shops downtown where I usually shop (or supermarkets, including Villa).
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

There is a roofed shop that has the walls tarped up at night on soi 6. Within a few meters of the train tracks.
Go north on Canal Rd, turn right onto soi 6, first or 2nd shop on your left after the train tracks.

Has huge stacks of liquor and beer so I assume this is the place you are looking for.

Thanks much. Away, away to France, the land of wine and roses and beautiful women and DUFF beer. I suspect Café René is the place to go. France, J'arrive!!

I don't know about prices of cans, but in Tesco you can expect to pay 495 baht for 12 660ml bottles of Chang Export. I think regular (stronger) Chang is about 100bt more, and Singha yet another 100bt.

Sorry don't know about Tiger

The last I heard (a couple of years ago) was that it was available in some bars on draught - was it not a success and subsequently withdrawn?

Try a search on Stella - I did, and there are several mentions of it being available in the past.

So has anyone checked this place out to see how much cheaper it is compared to other places? If it is possible for non-business owners to get booze from there then it could be a diamond in the rough for sure.
