That could be quite some time, if ever  Even if/when I can have a beer, I will not be able to 'power drink' any more. My capacity will be 400mls per hour.
That could work if you keep it up long enough.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Great news about the successful operation and the diabetes BB. :D

Could be very long p*ss ups in the future though.

Now you can look forward to the 'big move' and some much needed R+R. :thumb:

BB, Just out of curiosity what was that amount (weight) of food that you're now allowed in one sitting? And....how does that relate to a portion, say is it equal to one medium sandwich and one beer etc.? Have they given you a list of what food combinations equal your allowed per meal intake?

I ask as having some conversations with people here about what you had done and they seem to have interest in the end result as it applies to eating restrictions. Thanks. Pete

If you think of a 125mls yoghurt pot (fairly standard size), I can manage 200mls in a single sitting, but that will take me between 30 and 45 minutes to eat. Another measure used by the hospital is 6 tablespoons. It's not the weight, but the volume that my stomach can take. My stomach is now 100mls, so if I gorge my food, I can finish a meal in 30 minutes, but that makes me feel absolutely bloated. 45 minutes is much more civilized.

I really think it is a fantastic operation, and because it is irreversible (unlike the Gastric Band), you have no option but to comply with the restrictions. I honestly wish I had been given the opportunity to have the operation 30 years ago. Of course, the other major plus factor is that it reverses diabetes.

If your friends want to know more, they can Google 'Barriatric Sleeve' - the video can be a bit gory though.

Can you still get any enjoyment from your food if you never feel hungry, or is it just a chore like filling up the car?

Obviously I can still get pleasure from the flavours, but I don't need to over-indulge as I obviously have in the past. A little food for me probably takes 5 longer than the average person to eat. Therefore I get 5 times the pleasure at a fraction of the cost, and that makes me even happier. :D

Thanks for the info BB. The only downside I see is that as you have to increase the quantity of meals to keep up your strength (I think you mentioned this before) and spend 45 minutes per meal, you may be looking at spending 4.5 hours per waking day eating if 6 meals. However, with such small quantities, easy to take with you and enjoy it at the beach or elsewhere. Pete

During the weight loss period, it's just 3 meals a day - 7 o'clock, 12 o'clock and 5 o'clock. Yes, very easy if I want a picnic :D
