I've been using tap water for everything since 2007 without any problems.
When guests I boil or use bottled water for ice, tea, coffe, etc, since they may be "fuzzier" than me.

This is true and this time I forgot to insert "Rayong area.." We are awash here with freshwater due to last year's rains, more than can be used for a year. The problem here and I would think in many places is pipe maintenance and new build. The idiots will lay new pipe or repair old pipe and not be concerned about trench dirt getting into the system. This not only gets into tanks, but actually jams and fully shuts the supply end pipe attached to water meters. A few months ago we had no water. We had to blast away the concrete security block around the meter, remove the meter and sure enough, on the supply end was a sand and clay core plug in the pipe 50mm long completely blocking flow. No doubt yet another case of the supervisor snoozing in a hammock under the mango tree while the Cambodian labourers buggered things up. Pete

We use the tap water for shower and to brush teeth thats it. It is considered non drinkable really. We get the large 24 pack of singh water for most cooking and drink related needs.

Try using your shower mate, much easier.

I'm usually on autopilot for a few days when getting to Thailand and fill the kettle up with it but then get a bollocking off the missus, I only wash, wash up and brush my teeth with it.

I use the big white mom and pop shop bottles for drinking and cooking.

Sheese talk about being literal..Let me be more clear..We use the city water to shower and brush our teeth. And as I am being my specific we also use to it wash clothes and the car and our floor and also use it to water some plants that keep dying. Windows are done once in awhile and dishes when piled high enought in the sink will get done by us or licked clean by the cat. Clear as mud or the Thai city water from our pipes?
