yeah , nothing seems to effect the strenght of the thai baht

Never. The pound was over valued for years. Think if it more that you were being lucky then, as opposed to unlucky now.
Britain now wants to focus on making and exporting stuff (not sure what?!!). A high value pound would be counter productive to that.
