Does anyone know of a site that converts the Thai calendar to the Gregorian calendar and also has the Thai animal associated with each year. I've found (animal) information going back to 1960 but no further. The missus is a dog (no jokes please!), step daughter a little snake (makes sense!) but counting backward from the only two web pages I can find that seem to explain it (12 year cycles) I come out to be an ox on one and a rooster on another.
Does anyone know how to calculate backwards to the '40s to find out the animal. From all I can figure out the year is 2492 but I can't find any info on what animal represented that year for sure.

Re: Thai Calendar
1940 would be the dragon
Then snake, horse, ram (or goat), monkey, rooster, dog, pig, rat, ox
Tiger & Rabbit would be late 1930's or early 1950's

Re: Thai Calendar
2492 would be 1949, so depending on whether you were born before April 13th (Thai Zodiac) you'll be a Rat or an Ox.
Unless you go with the Chinese Zodiac, not sure what day that was in 1949, but I think mid-February is the latest to be a Rat, more likely you're an Ox.

Ok, Ox it is then... I wonder if an Thai Ox is a Buffalo. If so that explains a lot...

Ok, I feel better now. I looked up the Thai Ox zodiac sign and it's not a buffalo, it's a Brahma Bull.

And guess who else is an Ox?...
"Famous people born in the Year of the Ox include Peter Sellers, Dustin Hoffman, Barack Obama, Margaret Thatcher, Jane Fonda, Paul Newman, Princess Diana, Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty, George Clooney, Richard Burton and Vivien Leigh."
"General characteristics of people born in the Year of the Ox include Honesty, Calm but with a fierce temper if roused, Dependable, Hard working, Stubborn, Narrow minded. Ox people are slow to develop relationships but are totally trustworthy in love. Among the other animal signs in the Thai Zodiac, the most compatible with Ox people are those born in the years of the Snake, Rooster, Rat and Dog. The least compatible are those people born in the Year of the Ram."
