Where are the best eateries? In town or on the outskirts?

There's about 5 Pizza restaurants on corners near the Hilton!

I think I know the one you mean. Roberto's or something? I always used to like going there but the last time we went, last week (first time in a year or so), it was pretty disappointing. The bruscetta was basigally garlic bread with a couple of bits of sliced tomatos on top, and the Parama ham Pizza was over done and tasted gloopy.

Maybe it was an off day, I don't know. But will be a while before we visit again.

To our surprise, the Pizzas at Montri bar are absolutely fantastic!

I would never usually consider eating at a place which is first and foremost a bar (aside from nibbles or on the odd occassion when I'm too lazy/drunk to move on!), but I was sitting there having a beer with my girlfriend one day and a pizza went walking past me on its way to another table. It smelt fantastic and looked the part too. We considered ordering one there and then, but thought better of it as we were already full. Went back a few days later and ordered one, and we weren't disappointed!

Reasonable prices too; around the same price as all the other Pizzerias in the area, with the bonus of draft beer available.

I'm going to stop now because a) I'm starting to sound a bit like an advert (!) and, b) I'm making myself hungry!!!

2 best pizzas IMO are ROMA and Casa Mia. Others are tasteless to me.

Im new to Hua Hin but like my food and so far i found:
Kiss Food and drink restaurant very good food and very large menu....good price,have eaten there many times..thai and the international dishes. Its by the Grand night market and next to boxing stadium.
i like the Pizzas at the corner restaurant near hilton rd,sorry forgot its name.
yoiyoi japanese restaurant in market village has some nice stuff.!
Mr burger was quite good for thai food.
the indian food in the Colonade is quite good but abit slow cooking....always 20 mins up even when empty or near empty but its good value ....i takeaway his chicken tikka rolls/wrap.
Thai(isan) food on petchkasem road outside the bank nr the grand market is really good.(you eat on pavement outside the bank)....bbq chicken great but sometimes too busy and have to take a number and wait for a seat,very very popular with thais eating there and cheap.

Best move is take the chicken away. You only wait 5 mins and 5 mins to home on the moto plus once home you can drink more beer!

Not tried Casa Mia. But Roma? Seriously? They have to have the blandest Pizzas I have come across in Thailand (except for "The Pizza Company", of course!)

Casa Mia served me the nearest thing to cardboard..they called it a pizza..it was bland,tasteless & the topping was so sparse..they'd even skimped on the pineapple pieces!

Roma..had a meal there at Xmas, all our party ordered off a set menu of about 7 main dishes..finally, after about 45 mins when our food arrived...everyone got the same damn dish! So much for choosing off their menu..
We took an instant dislike to the (I presume) owner when he put his head in the carry-cot of a new born baby that was with us all..while still smoking his big fat cigar..!!!

Why are pizzas so expensive for what they are?..even in countries where cheese is cheaper?

I don't think 200bt - 250bt (average price in Hua Hin, regardless of location, it would seem) is massively expensive. Remember to serve good pizzas you have to have a wood or stone oven installed. I guess they cost a bit to run, and they take up a fair amount of space .

Now I've got a craving for a good (well-laden) pizza..sorry if some of us are straying off-topic here on this particular page..but where is Montri's? or who does great pizzas? any more suggestions from you lot out there??

Montri is on the Hilton Stretch, next to Mai-Tai.

Their pizzas are of the 'thin crispy' Italian variety. If you prefer the more doughy Italian style, I think Mama Mia's is your best bet (a bit further down, opposite all the 'fishing pier' restaurants.
