Are there any late hours restrictions on construction works?

Is there any government act in Thailand that limits allowed construction hours during the day? Or it's legal that Thai workers use their circular saws and hammers till midnight? :guns:

it would probably depend on who was having the building built .also if there were any penalty clauses for completing late , and it could be that they are pouring concrete and i would imagine in the heat here night time would be the best time to pour it

Probably NOT. And if there is, it will not be observed or enforced (unless you are an unusially high ranking person in Thai society). Money talks.
Earplugs seem to be the solutution to your question.

Really? All I needed was a phone call to the hard working police in Thailand while in Bangkok to STOP the after hours noise next to my previous home and it was done quite quickly and I'm not a high ranking person in Thai society as Lung per suggests of ALL laws only being enforced IF you are a high ranking official here. Thailand is a Democracy with EQUAL rights for all its citizens, so please don't slander the Thai people, the Thai government or its customs, you must remember you are only a guest in the kingdom Lunp Per and earplugs are a great solution or maybe just following the Buddhist principles and just accepting minor disturbances and adapting by using earplugs. Good night!

ste860 is possibly right..night-time concrete pouring/laying is the norm around here..midnight on a Sunday and cement trucks are still rolling thru' town in convoy.

No no Lung Per - Amnat is clearly such a good guest in Thailand that he can exert Western influence to such an extent as to totally disrupt the local way of working. Which as US says probably makes sense. Who in their right mind (apart from Amnats' neighbours of course) would want to be working on construction in the heat of the day when cooler night time work makes much more sense? It is only our Western heads which are programmed to think it is unacceptable.

I actually thought there were restrictions. Something like 7-8am to 6pm. Quite where you'd get if you tried to enforce them, heaven knows.
Perhaps the like of SJ or Splitlid can shed some light?

Doesn't that working restriction apply to most Thai men?

Certainly round Condo Chain work continues overnight on building sites but not noisy stuff. Arc welding and silent jobs only it seems

I was having dinner in Takiab last week and the work was going on with giant cranes and hundreds of workers with cement trucks lined up in a row 5 or 6 at a time until after 10 p.m.; and that was on a Saturday night.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
