Oy restaurant moving

Post by moja »

Heard today that Oy Restaurant on Soi 94 is closing 01 April and reopening 01 May, at the latest, further up Soi 94. His lease has come up for renewal and the landlady wants to more than triple what he is currently paying!

Will let everyone know more as and when I hear anything

They closed last year for a kitchen refurb but that was only for a week and they did not do much to the restaurant itself as they knew the lease was coming to an end. I am not 100% sure where the new restaurant is going to be but I think it is going to be next to the pink block of shophouses further up soi 94.

Is that near the Pizza (Peter) further up from the Japanese?

It is beyond Pizza Peter - which by the way is closed. Something was happening there today but apart from the restaurant being emptied I cannot tell you what

Maybe the owners know they may lose the site within a couple of years due to railway expansion or possible new inner ring-road.. so chose to triple the rent until that time..sounds feasable..??

It's being built now, going down 94 towards mountains, it's on the right maybe 150m past Bueno Vista music bar, and 50m before the construction plant yards. The wife said it's their own land.

You can bet other stuff will open up around them in that, currently, barren area.

There is a sign outside the current restaurant to point people in the right direction for the new restaurant. They also intend to put up more signs once they close. Flyers have also been printed ready to be handed out.

Super Joe - as far as I know it is not their own land but they have got a very long lease on it with rent rises already agreed for the duration.

I think that's "Souay" Vista.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
