When I was in training it the Navy, running on the beach was used as a form of punishment!
(On soft sand, not the easy bit.)

Takiab beach is nice and firm, no problem on knees/joints as it does not have the impact of road running, perfect for running shoes and does not ware them out any quicker than road running.

 Was that because of distance?

Yesterday I decided a ride from Borfai to Takiap beach was a good idea, and then feeling brave, I decided to hit Pranburi - big mistake......lol. Going there was fine, but getting back was somewhat more challenging, and made worse by the fact that the saddle was killing my butt......lol. Then again, I'm still getting used to cycling, with about 10 days under the belt so far. All in all, yesterday was a good ride, and I just can't imagine getting the same sort of enjoyment from a home gym.

I beg to disagree... "round" is a shape! :D
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Have you noticed on the tv ads that most home exercise eqpt stows neatly in a closet or under the bed? That's because the makers know thet's where the thing will end up within 2 weeks.
Working out at home requires a lot of discipline and there are easily-found distractions there, not to mention wifey always has somethin for you to do (now!).
Go to a gym (if you don't mind indoors) and use a range of eqpt to get a full-body workout. Plus you can meet workout buddies and assist each other, compare notes and techniques. It gets you out of the house, too, and the wife can't quibble about that-- you are making yourself fit.
Happiness can't buy money

Actually on one of the international news channels the other day I saw an article where people were getting gentle exercise by walking on a treadmill whilst using a computer on a desk on the front of it which would be pretty good for anyone who spends a lot of time on the keyboard.
You're not going to get super fit but it's better than doing nothing.
