Hi, my name is Steve and I am from England. I have spent 2 month in Huahin and then back in England for month. coming back in a week for 3 months this time, and so it will continue I hope. I continue to rent long term and have bought the usual scooter and a honda CBR.
This time I think I really need a car to do any more exploration. Any advice on this would be welcomed as I find cars here pretty expensive.
Although Thai is reasonably cheap have to admit the money seems to go pretty easily, probably too much beer and restaurants.
Over the next few months I would like to start making a few friends here so any advice on this would be welcome to.
Thanks
All the best

Hi Steve,
This is a great forum for finding out things, plus if you search the boards you can see any social events planned. In fact I see there is a Quiz night in JW's this Thursday 5th April where you can probably meet a few of the locals.
Not sure if you are a golfer, but that's always a good way to get to know people wherever you live. If you can find your way to Bernie's Bar you will get info about the local golf society.
I get a very good long term car hire rate from a local company in HH if you decide not to actually buy a car. PM me and I can pass on the details.

Hi again,
yes I would be very interested about reliable car hire, I guess you get what you pay for here. Same car half price until you look at the insurance etc.
Any advice or recomendation would be welcomed.
Thanks
