Told TM 47 no longer required - Info false

Post by bapak »

In the last couple of days several of our students have rolled up to HH Immigration with their completed TM47 and passport, presented same to staff there. Staff have handed back and told not required.

We queried HH Immigration on this and was told emphatically that TM47 is required, and the receipt stapled into back of passport.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Its the form used for the 90 day report. Just done mine 2 days ago, the same procedure as usual.

Yes I was told by one of the officers that they now have all your details stored in their computers so you don't need to fill out the TM 47 anymore. As my next trip to immigration is in end of May I can't verify that piece of information yet so I guess somebody else have to find out if this is true or false.

Well, I think that may have lost something in the translation. They have had everyone's details stored in their computers for a long time. But regardless of where the information is stored what has it to do with reporting every 90 days. :?

And I am sure it would have given Madam Immigration great pleasure to be able to tell Khun Farang that he was wrong again, and please go away and find out the rules! :tsk:

I went and did my report two days ago. The TM47 was taken from me, and the bottom part stapled to the back of my passport.

I would guess that perhaps it was one of the uninformed volunteers at Immigration.

No, the dragon was turning them away.

Did my 90 day report this morning and the form WAS required!

As a side-issue: There were many angry people as the place was crowded and there were no pens available to complete forms. I always take a form away with me and complete it at home.
