Have a look on eBay Richard...there are some offers..some come from Hong Kong, so postage won't be too bad I would not think. Not sure what the T/S are like though. I suppose if looking in HH I would start in the opticians, they sometimes have them.

Before you buy anything Richard, I invite you to come to my place and have a look at the heaven above.
I have a Takahashi Sky 90 which is, (in my mind), is the Rolls Royce of refractors.
When you know what this telescope is capable of, I believe you will be better suited to make your own choice.

or why not take a closer look at Meade: http://www.meade.com/

You can find an awful lot of cheap instruments, but nothing better than the recommended ones.

Another good choice is to simply by a set of binoculars (10x50 or 7x50) so you will be able to see what is where and take it from there.
And if you didn't know, you can perfectly well observe M31, the Andromeda galaxy from Hua Hin.
Just take a look northwards.

PM'd you.
Saturn is up all night this time of the year and is probably the most beautiful object to watch with a amateur telescope.

Would love to get one also, very low light pollution where I live and the sky looks awesome even with the naked eye.

Some great deals on eBay such as this one:

But shipping is likely to cost a fortune.

Found this Bangkok based company that has some nice kit on their website, maybe worth contacting to see if they offer delivery ...

I still buy a lot of things from e bay in the UK.

As a rough guide postage with Parcel Force costs about £10 per kilo express airfreight.

My goods normally arrive in 5 days and you can track your parcel.
