Canopy

Post by Dr Michael »

The sun beating on my glass door is unbearable.
I want to errect a canopy to shield the windows.
A welded metal frame with suitable material covering.

Any ideas of anybody who could construct a frame.

Any metalwork shop will be able to make up a bespoke canopy, consisting of a metal frame with colourful aluminium slats for a few thousand Baht fitted.

Sorry I can't remember which magazine or details about the shop, but I was looking through one of those free tourist handouts recently and saw an add for an awning maker here. They had photos of their wares and they can do exactly what you want or possibly an even better option, a retractable or roll up awning that you can extend only when you need it and retract when you want the sky overhead.

Anyone else seen this and know where the shop is?
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Cheaper (and significantly lower quality) option, is the guys who drive around in pick ups with the roller blinds. Usually blue and green.

Answer to HHFarang is Vince at Castashadow. His products are top of the line, installations are excellent and look GREAT. He has done several here in the Orchid Palm complex.

Go west along Chomsin Rd, cross over the railway line continue about 100m then turn right where you will see several car repair / metal fabrication workshops.

On the main Phetchkasem road travelling north between Chomsin Rd and Index there are some more to be found.

Homepro also have stylish ones on display in aluminium/stainless steel /acrylic and retractable awnings (door section).
