Hey i make plenty of spelling mistakes but a couple of years back just south of the clock tower heading south was a massive sign " Maditerranean Apartments.
Also a few months back whilst waiting for a night bus at the new bus station this young dude drove in, a souped up mark one Escort in black with Ford Acort writen down the doors diagonal in silver.
Kendo.
Is Bangkok a place or a nasty injury.......Eric Morcombe.
I always used to have a chuckle when going to play golf at Dolphin Bay. At the turn we used to take to get to the course, there was a sign saying "Brassiere". It was obviously for some form of restaurant and I found it funny that the name had been mixed up with "Brasserie".
Why was a restaurant naming itself after an item of womens' undergarments?
Until someone told me that the local folklore believes that a young woman appeared out of the sea one day and was rescued by local fishermen. She was topless, so to hide her modesty the locals gave her a bra. She is now the "goddess" who protects the fishing fleet and the sailors put bras down on some rocks as an offering.
Hence the restaurant being called "Brassiere" rather than "Brasserie".
A purposeful spelling of the word that for years I had thought was a mistake.
