This was a crap thread to start with.
It was a rather warped view of Americans.
It was dying a natural and well-deserved death until Sarge, for reasons known only to himself, decided to give it the kiss of life.
Now we've got more people talking crap, but for some reason about Brits.
Give me strength, Lord.

Re: Americans
Agree with all the above...
It was a very poorly named thread by myself and one I wish to wash my hands of.

Re: Americans
Tweety seems to excel himself on many threads.
As for the Americans, no different to any others here, as in all nationalities have their FUBAR section and also have those that 'buck-the-trend' that are cool to interact with too.

Re: Americans
Oh I dunno, I love threads that have "[any nationality]" in the subject.
You can pretty much tell the content from the start:
a load of generalizations, some defensive posts from memebers of given nationality (usually including some generalizations aimed back at the nationality of the guy who made the first post, and anybody else whos joined in), some defensive posts on behalf of given nationality from neutrals, the OP shocked that he's managed to offend anybody with his sweeping generalizations, somebody stepping in to say 'hey you gotta laugh at yourself'... general apathy towards each others views....
ahhh.... I love the fact that people think these threads are a good idea in the first place!

Re: Americans
MY feeble attempt
We therefore over a fair few centuries have become the ultimate experts in taking the piss out of ourselves and the French who are fair game anyway. Sarcasm the lowest form of wit has also been honed by the Brits into an art form.

If a village didn't have its idiots there would be nothing to talk about.

OK guys, I didn't like the thread from the start. I'll take a chance and lock it, but it may re-emerge if one of my colleagues disagrees.
