The most enjoyable dining experience you have had in Hua Hin

Post by GLCQuantum »

With the 'Best 3 eateries in Hua Hin' thread rolling I thought I would add this. Now this includes everything from service to toilets. There are many variables that come into play such as company and wine prices.

What is the best meal you have ever had in Hua Hin?

For me it was a recent one at Terrace 90 during their birthday. Regardless of the price it was just great food. The mexican ('tex mex' bla bla bla) was better than anything similar I've tried in Thailand. The rest of the buffet was just great. (knocked the stuffing out of the Dusit xmas buffet I can tell you right now) Sat at the table for me Grans 86th(7th?) with family and friend (singular) it was a great night where even me gran knocked back a bit of baileys. :D

I'm gonna have to break my own thread rules for this though as 'Pan Din Tong' deserves an honorable mention. I went their once and ordered a goulash with garlic bread - simply delicious it was. Wen't back after the owner had sold up and it was crap (service and food)

Okay... so you get two specific days eating memories.

I think you have cracked it GLC it depends on your budget but all the food I've eaten at Terrace has been top notch ribs - mexican - steak etc ... however I'm a bit of a fan of that little place up by the hua hin airport as mentioned in 3 best eateries, the place is called Bamboo.
Buff Bills fish and chips are great, also the Italian opposite the hilton. But you still can't beat the old binta burger late at night after a few jars. Jungle juice used to be good for a sunday roast not been for a long time ... and El Murpheys .... :troll:
Thats me Im on my way to luxury

When I said 'Regardless of the price it was just great food'- I was kinda saying that... just because it was cheap as chips for a buffet (199 baht  ), the food was still of the highest standard tastewise.

I've paid over a grand for a meal (Chinese place in the Hilton pops straight into me head) and it was awful.

But this thread wasn't specifically about the food per se. I was thinking along the lines of your best 'Dining Experience' in Hua Hin. No prices should need to be mentioned.

No way I can possibly single out one meal as 'the best', I'm afraid. Too many great ones to choose from, and it wouldn't be fair on the others to arbitrarily stick one on the top of the stack!

Ah you see, but you get two.... :D

It could really be anything. The view, service, food, restroom, company, something funny that happened during the night, napkins delicately made into a dragon...

I don't understand the troll reference. :?

GLCQ - stop being so possessive and defensive of 'your' thread. It's obviously going to be just another "where do you like to eat?" thread whatever you say. Just let it run. There's no money at stake.

EDIT: My best dining experiences have always been at home - in Hua Hin or anywhere else... :naughty:
This is the way

Sorry about that... I realised after I started it sounded too similiar. Was rather looking for nice little 'stories' about a nights dining from others.

First..........Bearing in mind all the factors (ambiance, food, service and company) then I have to say CoCo 51. However, I have only been on special occasions and therefore regardless of all other factors the key was the company or event and their appreciation that made it special

Second......Has to be Palm Bistro for a quiet maybe romantic event with a sumptuous menu excellent service and serenity

OK..........If out with the lads you cannot beat JW's IMO

Gotta agree on Pan din tong going down the drain, used to be good, last time I went he said he'd be 10 minutes and come and get our drink order, it was less than a third full.

Left after 5 minutes and went too Tiks.

Without doubt the best I have had is the Monday night carvery at the Dusit Thani. This is not cheap (1.000 for food & a little less for a complete wine arrangement) but the quality, variety and quantity were fantastic. As much as you can drink from a choice of 7 different "good" wines. Oysters, trout, salmon, etc., etc. for starters. Fish, roast lamb, beef, yorkshire pudding, etc., etc. for main course. Numerous deserts and a fantastic selection of cheeses. Add to this a beautiful table in the garden with a view of the sea with very friendly service. They will also send a free taxi to pick you up at your hotel and take you back again after the meal. I doubt if you will find better value for money anywhere!

I can only second that! OK, it's not cheap but it's well worth the money.

Well, thinking about all the lobster, all the wine and all the cheese, I'm starting to think that's it almost cheap. After all, if You go to an ordinary sea-food restaurant and eat lobster and drink wine, that's not cheap that either.
