for a long time I used to think 'lazy' was tee-kiat instead of kee-kiat (which I don't think has anything to do with shit!)

"Khun (or 'mung' would be the choice word used in this scenario) Kee Giat" (I personally think it's more of a 'g' than a 'k').... could be translated as 'You're a lazy shit' though.

Unless, which is certainly possible, I've been pronouncing it incorrectly for over a decade.

O.K I may be venting. But saw this happen 2 days ago. My wife had just purchased some kinda latte and we choose to sit outside at a table. But to the smoker who was smoking in the non-smoking table at the Market Village think next time. It was bad enought this older male just choose to ignore the sign on the table that the area was non-smoking but when the manager of the star bucks came up and asked him to stop he stood up and flicked the smoke at her and spit on the table and walked away. Classy...

A friend here in the UK (Christopher or Chris) is married to a Thai lady
she calls him "Christ" as in Jesus Christ.........I think he,s given up telling
her that he is not the son of god.

That's a weird one that for sure...

With the name 'Chris' it almost always comes out as 'Kiss' or sometimes 'Chlis' (as in Ker-Lis ) but have never heard the 'Christ' pronunciation.

I would actually like to hear a Thai pronounce 'Christ' correctly. That's a difficult one for sure as the consonant clusters on both ends of that word are a nightmare for them - just as some of their words are for us. In my 17 years contact of Thai family/people I have to date not heard them get those sounds quite right.... again just like us trying to nail their lingo.

I can't see it myself to be honest.
