British Journalism, that white van man will nod and agree with. Discuss.

And I'm aware this rag is bad but this is what the great British public read.

Well, since you raise the topic - putting aside all the rabble-rousing nonsense, why didn't Carroll take a penalty before the Ashleys, particularly Cole? Was he due to take the 5th?
I did wonder at the time, but didn't really see much point in starting any grief here.
This is the way

I'm surprised that the English rags have not reported the obvious

England were knocked out of the Euros because their tits weren't big enough!

Why would he?

Why did Drogba take Chelseas 5th in the Champions League? Dennis Irwin was Manchester Uniteds penalty taker for years. Ian Rush didn't, Torres doesn't.

If Merson had layed off the Alcohol and Cocaine in his playing days he may have stepped up ahead of Arsenals penalty taker, Lee Dixon, a rightback.

That isn't the highlight of the article anyway, Milner eating up Pirlo and Harry Redknapp being the best tactician he's ever seen are.

Ronaldo should be ashamed of himself.

I don't quite understand the issue with Cole taking a penalty :?
He's obviously confident enough & has taken them before for England in shoot outs, plus he took one for us in an FA cup final & chelsk in 2 CL finals. (scoring every time!) :? :|

Defender=Defend.

Why on earth would the most experienced and decorated player in the squad be expected to take a pen over a 23 year old at his 1st tournament who missed his last pen and would get humiliated by the media if he missed?

It's water off a ducks back to Cole, they'd actively go out to ruin Carroll.

Roberto Carlos could barely hit a ball.

There is an art in taking penalties although the variations are enormous - try to trick the keeper into going the wrong way, blast with as much power and hope for the best, place it high and wide into the corners, or as Pirlo demonstrated, the cheeky chip. It is all about confidence and being able to execute whatever your chosen preference is - when I was playing it was hitting it firmly in to either the top left or right hand side as far away from the keeper as possible - and I didn't miss many!!

There is no reason why a defender or even a keeper shouldn't take penalties!!

Agreed.

I'd have Johnson, Agger or Reina over Carroll if Liverpool were in a Cup final.

The Redknapp and Milner quotes are the highlights though.

Does anybody know if Mersons mum who he lives with grounded him when he recently got done for drink driving?

Hi there guys!!!

The Italian curse Lives on!
In major Tournaments we Germans had never beaten the Italian team
6 Losses 3 draws now.
The Thais who know about European Football would say: Germany Pae Tang Italy once again. Krub!

Curses!!!!! :cuss: curses :cuss: curses :cuss: !!!!

On the bright side: We Germans have a young and propsecting team that can develop and can evolve to be more experienced and in 2 years time when World Cup in Brasil comes The German National Team will be among the favorites once again.
So on that note
I will now sit back give Kudos to the Italians and smoke one herbal Cigarettes (Sinsemilla, Chronic, weed) and after that go to bed!!! :rasta: :rasta: :rasta:

I was gonna put Italy down for a 2-1 win as I hadn't seen the Germans play yet... then RZR words started to ring in my ears...
Italy will not get the time & possession they had against us v the Germans.
Having watched all the German games & think they'll win quite comfortably
So I decided to go 2-1 to the Germans. :cuss: :banghead:

Don't worry US, they obviously weren't good enough. If Germany couldn't win against a side that couldn't beat the crap team that England are without resorting to a lottery at the end, then there's no way that Germany were going to win anything.

Roll on the World Cup.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

And I'm aware this rag is bad but this is what the great British public read.
The bit that gets to me most is when Merson says we should have stuck Milner on Pirlo as he would have eaten him for breakfast.
I dont know how much he gets for writing this bollox but 1 baht would be too much.

For penalties you put the main men first who are comfortable with taking them.....doesnt matter what position they play.
Cole took a good penalty for Chelsea v Bayern Munich so he should be high up the list.

I enjoyed Italys win over Germany....absolutely unexpected but the downside is it might make England appear better than they actually were.......Roy could even make Milner captain for the World Cup 2014 campaign ! :duck:
We're all on our uppers,we're all going skint,
