Re: Wanted: razor blades from the UK
Why don't you just order them from an internet shop? There are plenty and mailing from UK takes only a few days. Go Google.blue05 wrote:If anyone is coming over to hua hin in the next couple of weeks from UK would like to ask a favour

They must be a very special blade as most of the popular ones seem to be available in the big supermarkets?blue05 wrote:If anyone is coming over to hua hin in the next couple of weeks from UK would like to ask a favour

Re: Wanted: razor blades from the UK
Could you be a bit more specific regarding which supermarkets please? I use a fairly common (for the Western world) Gillette Fusion Razor, and have been looking all over for replacement blades in Hua Hin. I have seen nothing near the quality available anywhere.
What I have seen has been very poor quality at very high prices.

Can't get Fusion over here BB, I always look on the off chance but never seen them. I go to the UK once a year and bring my supplies back with me.

Blue05 you could change your razor.. might be cheaper in the long run .. just a suggestion.
Re: Wanted: razor blades from the UK
From what I've seen, the razors available here in Thailand are about 5 years behind what is currently available in the Western world. It will be quite a downgrade to switch to Thai blades.
Never mind - I don't suppose any of us came here to have a shave. TIT and we love it anyway. I'd just had my hopes raised when I read Dannie Boy's comment.

I use Gillette Mach III and you can get them in Tesco and I am sure in Watsons and probably in Boots.Big Boy wrote:From what I've seen, the razors available here in Thailand are about 5 years behind what is currently available in the Western world. I use Gillette "Sensor". They are similar to Mach 3 and the same product that I used to buy in Australia more than 10 years ago. They are expensive, but last a long time.Dannie Boy wrote:I use Gillette Mach III and you can get them in Tesco and I am sure in Watsons and probably in Boots.Big Boy wrote:From what I've seen, the razors available here in Thailand are about 5 years behind what is currently available in the Western world. Maybe this thread should be moved to "cravings from home'! I really think that if you have to import your "special" brand of razor it is time to leave.

Does anyone still use one of these? Apart from Richard, of course.
This is the way

Thanks for the comments people, really dont see what is so bizarre about wanting specific blades, I use gillette fusions and as stated above they cannot be bought here. The last batch I got from Philippines but down to last pack now so thought I would ask if anyone was coming over and could do a favour.
I have tried some of the local blades watsons 5 blade and boots own brand plus some old gillette models but they are pretty useless by comparison

All I can say that your yearly calculations were out and you should have bought at least two years supply as a nice buffer zone. Re: Wanted: razor blades from the UK
Funny thread really, as complaining about there not being some fandango foreign option not being here in the shops but Gillette Mach 3 razors and gel is available here and that is just simply not good enough.....is laughable.
You aren't is Europe or the US here so just deal with it, and the options on this one here are reasonably priced that offer an acceptable end result.
Jeez you guys, whinging about razor availability is a bit lame when there are reasonable options here.

I use gilette fusion too and you are right they are not available in Thailand. I buy them from internet shops in my home country and suggest you do the same. As said before, do a google search and find a supplier in your home country. Good luck.blue05 wrote:Thanks for the comments people, really dont see what is so bizarre about wanting specific blades, I use gillette fusions and as stated above they cannot be bought here. I don't think anybody is whinging. The OP was trying to resolve a personal problem.Spitfire wrote:Jeez you guys, whinging about razor availability is a bit lame when there are reasonable options here.
Dannie Boy then gave hope that a superior product was available, which prompted further enquiries.
We'll just have to grin and bear the fact that we will have to downgrade to something like the Mach III, or take positive action like the OP.
