Re: Mislaid Departure Card
I lost my Departure Card last year as well, but it was no problem at all leaving via Swampy. Just a raised eyebrow and a tut. It was their fault anyway - it hadn't been stapled into my passport on entry. That's my excuse...

That's what happened to my friend. She wanted to get an xtension and I said take your card down to Immig. She din't know what I was talking about because the desk jockey hadn't stapled it in but HH Immig sent her to the police and we still don't really know why. Anyway, if it happens its not dire.margaretcarnes wrote:I lost my Departure Card last year as well, but it was no problem at all leaving via Swampy. Just a raised eyebrow and a tut. All of these cards have a letter/number serial number on them. Maybe jot this down in pencil on the back inside page of your passport. If you lose it, at least Imm has something to reference that should already be in their computer system associated with your name, based upon your arrival card. Pete

Always worry about losing official documents so I keep scanned copies of my passport, visas, departure card just in case I lose any of the them then I can provide these copies as evidence to the relevant government bodies both local and foreign.

Scan them and email them to yourself.magobligin wrote:Always worry about losing official documents so I keep scanned copies of my passport, visas, departure card just in case I lose any of the them then I can provide these copies as evidence to the relevant government bodies both local and foreign.
