My recommendation for 4 courses in the area if you do not mind the travel:-

1. Royal Ratchaburi
2. Dragon Hills
3. Springfield
4. Majestic

They're still doing MC up, I believe. Last time I played it was A&C as new greens were going down on B. I think it's B&C now. C was a great 9. Lots of money's being spent on the place and I would reckon it'll be one of the best very soon. I'd certainly play it any day at the moment.

Played MC twice this week.....B and C course...Both courses playing really well and A course will be ready for high season. Its quickly becoming a favourite course of mine.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

As mentioned, I'm actually planning to come buy in Oct but not sure if am getting the best rates for Golf + Accomodation + Land Transfers for a 4D3N Package with 4 rounds of golf.

Anyone can recommend a reliable organizer?

Have pmd you a very good contact to take care of your golf.

I would play -

Sea Pines
Banyan
Either Ratchaburi or Dragon Hills (day trip)
Springfield

Once the greens have settled at Majestic it will be fantastic!

Have fun!

Just heard something interesting today. Black Mountain is going to be closed to the public from mid Dec until mid Jan. The golf tour companies have been told this. Does anyone know if this rumour is true or not?
If it is true, then it can't be an Asian Tour event. It isn't the Royal Trophy, because that is happening in Brunei in Dec. I know there is going to be a small ladies event at some time, but it isn't that. If they are going to close the course for a month, in high season, then it must be a massive event - perhaps European Tour. I heard that the owner had said that the next event he would do would be a big European Tour event and that date would match up with the middle east events.
Anyone heard anything? Maybe it is just Hua Hin rumours! Would certainly be fantastic for the area if they did have a European Tour event here. Maybe the reason why they have just cut away the hill on the 18th hole and the 1st hole. They have also changed the 9th hole and all for the better.

Going to go and have a game at Majestic next week. Have heard people talking about it but can't find any real info on it. Have heard reports that they are trying to sell memberships, but hear different rumours! I guess they will have info at the golf course. They aren't promoting it anywhere and they still don't have a web site! Hard to imagine not having a web site, but this is Thailand! People are saying that the new greens will be good when they settle down, but they were built about 6 months ago and should be good after 4 months, so that makes me wonder.
Anyway, I will go and have a game and make my own opinion, but sure hope they get it in good condition and run it properly, because Hua Hin needs more golfing options.
I do worry that the prices for golf are going to keep going up and up, and as a result, people will just play less golf to keep within their budgets. I notice that the caddies fees are now 300 baht at all courses and the annual dues are going up everywhere. There might be an ever increasing number of expats moving here (wanting to play golf) but more and more will just find it too costly. Someday, one of the courses might work out that dropping prices will lead to a busy course year round and an increase in profits. It would be a bold move, but something different needs to happen.

Black Mountain could have simply booked all of it tee times itself, many of their members come and play everyday. If the European Tour was coming I am sure we would know by now.

Majestic is selling % year memberships - good deal if your looking to play lots of golf at only one course, your not a member of one of the Golf Societies or you already have a Springfield or other membership.
The course itself is looking great and I reckon that given 6-12 months it will be in storming condition! Great job by the guy who is driving this

We always use AGP Golf Tours in Poon Suk Rd. Can hire a range of new clubs for 400 baht
Great service, new van, great driver and pick up service. Naeng, Claus and Gee are very friendly and I would recommend highly.

Nothing is confirmed yet and they are still taking bookings. There is a possibility that the course will be closed for a tournament, as yet unnamed.

Interesting - lets hope they do have a big event in Jan. It would be great to see. There is no way they would close the course just for their members! They don't have that many members and the owner is right into money making business, but the only thing more important to him is having big events.
The Hua Hin Golf Tours office told us that they weren't able to make bookings and they do supply more golfers than anyone else. Anyway, we will find out one way or the other in the next few months.
