HH Immigration, could be a very long wait?
Re: HH Immigration, could be a very long wait?
I went today for 90 day reporting, about 10.30, and drew the number 46. The highest number shown was 23 and a lot of people waiting. So I asked the first officer, who had nothing to do, for 90 day reporting. She took my form and I was out in 1 minute. Sorry, if other people were waiting a long time for 90 day reporting, but I had no intention to jump the queue.
Re: HH Immigration, could be a very long wait?
90 day reporting seems to be the bottleneck in there, I went last week for my annual extension. Got there during the lunch break, once it opened at 1300 I was first through the door and onto that ticket machine, out within half an hour with another year.
There were a lot of Indians and Burmese there doing 90 day reports (and about 4 or 5 westerners), this is what slows everything up.

Yes, the same with me last time I went there. At 1300 hrs they could not get the ticket machine to switch on! Why turn the bloody thing off over lunch break????????
When that office first opened they were using that small office outside the main door for 90 day reporting, but I guess they had to stop as the couple of times I tried to go in there it was jammed packed full and only 1 officer trying to cope.
They seem to have enough staff, but beyond their logic to split them up a bit depending on what demand the queuing system is showing.

Re: HH Immigration, could be a very long wait?
i went thursday at 1300 and waited nearly 3 hours to renew my visa ,it was very busy and plenty of burmese doing there 90 days
Re: HH Immigration, could be a very long wait?
Went 0830 Wednesday morning to renew our visas and we were in and out in around 30 minutes.
Re: HH Immigration, could be a very long wait?
Wednesday also was good for me. Arrived about 9:50, about 7 people waiting and every clerk station was manned. My number was called at 10.
Re: HH Immigration, could be a very long wait?
Do not take a number this is for long terrm Visas only, Went last week and spoke to assistant outside Interupting Russian gent asking 90 day reporting.
She ripped the forms from passsport and presented to next available officer.
Unfurtunately 90 days ago the office was s--oooo busy they took my pre filled Tm 47s and left the old tear off strips in passport with new stamp and new initial.
This was against all practice and would never happen we were told on next 90 day, maybe to save face, but it took several officers and over 30 mins of intense questioning to resolve the problem.
Not our fault, your fault, you should have new tear off strip.
Beware do not deviate from standard practice.

90 day reporting - never had a problem. There is favouritism involved. I always deal with the same lady and she told me 'Dont take ticket'. As soon as she's free then she calls me over. Sometimes, she just stamps my slip and crosses out the date and puts a new one in. When I query it she always says, 'Paperwork next time'
Never been more than 5 mins for 90 days and not more than 10 mins for visa renewal!!!!
(Though it does depend who you pay!!!)

Re: HH Immigration, could be a very long wait?
Don't like to go to Immigration on Monday but almost missed date so had to go then. Always go in afternoon since used to be little traffic then. When I arrived at 1:35 was concerned because of all those standing around outside and a few more inside. Took the form and took a number (131 and they were processing 113 at the time) and proceeded to fill out form. When done noticed Officer collecting passports from all those masses from Myanmar who were there for 90 day. Gave mine to her and sat back. Finally noticed a group standing around the officers station and getting back passports. Got up and my passport was setting aside on desk. When she finished one she was working on she processed mine immediately. In and out in about 20 minutes. If they continue to process like that then there is no cause for concern for 90 day reports. Don't know about next time, however, as renewal of Retirement Visa comes up. Will cross my fingers.
Earlier post was certainly spot on---Immigration is all clogged up with the Myanmar refugees that now have papers.

Re: HH Immigration, could be a very long wait?
I did my first 90 day report last Friday. In and out within 5 minutes
Had the same thing, took a number because I was told to, but a young lady came up and took my passport. About 2 minutes later somebody was holding my passport in the air with my photo showing. I went to collect it - end of story.
I'll be going again later today to try to get my proof of residency (or whatever it's called) for car purchase. I hope it's as painless.

If you go in before 9.00am it is painless

I went at 1pm. In and out in 30 minutes, despite dozens of Burmese doing their 90 day reporting.PET wrote:If you go in before 9.00am it is painless
