Post by fft100 »

Bought a new car, but before i can take delivery i need to provide a confirmation of address from the immigration office. I am not in the blue book for the house.

I'm your man - I went through that exact same process yesterday.

I went to Immigration armed with the following:

- My passport (plus one copy of 3 pages. The photo page, the visa page and the arrival card page).
- 2 passport sized photos.
- My wife's Tabien Baan (plus 1 copy).
- 300 Baht

We actually got the copies outside Immigration - the lady there knew exactly what we needed. The same lady provided the necessary form and even filled it in for me :D .

The process from start to finish took 30 minutes - easy.

If it's the girl at the photocopy machine, she was absolutely brilliant yesterday.

very good service this morning. girl outside did the photo copies for a ridiculously cheap amount, there was no queue inside (take a ticket and get called immediately) and the man behind the counter was very polite and his english was ok. 300 baht.

slight downside was that he gave me a letter for a driving license instead of buying a car. This was picked up by the garage, and i went back to immigration and the man was very apologetic, handed over what he was doing to a colleague, went off to the computer and did the new letter himself. 15 minutes and it was all sorted out with more apologies. I was surprised that a proof of address letter wasnt ok for anything. seems odd to me.

As they say in restaurant reviews, i would go there again !
