Premier League 2012-2013
Re: Premier League 2012-2013
Very happy with Everton's business yesterday, strengthened us and gave us a much better squad. Bought nigh on a team in the last 2 windows for the neck end of what you would get in a lucky bag nowadays. In Moyes we trust

Disappointed on this one:
Spurs failed with a late move for Porto's Portugal international midfielder Joao Moutinho, 25.

Bit pissed off we didn't get a striker in.

Don't think there is one, they buy for the sake of buying.caller wrote:More Citeh purchases coming through, but I can never work out the game plan there?
I don't rate Mancini particularly highly either.

Me too. Our options are very limited. We can recall our big fella from WBA after 6 months. Hope he does well there, but we're moving away from his style of play.BaaBaa. wrote:Bit pissed off we didn't get a striker in.

Poor day at the office for us evertonians, hopefully the break will do us good
Re: Premier League 2012-2013
I was surprised to see that Huddlestone was playing for Spurs today. Yesterdays tale was that he failed a medical at Stoke that would otherwise have seen them take him on loan? So were they trying to offload him or not? Anyway, he was sent off and Spurs were crap.
WBA are flying! Hats off to Clarke!!

Boas is starting to look like the manager with the perpetual rain cloud hanging over his head. Someone has put some bad voodoo on him me thinks.
or.....was he very much overrated when he was in Portugal? Pete

I'm not going to knock his achievements in Portugal but he was at a club that has won the league about 15 times in the last 20 years, it's almost a given.
He won the Europa League too, Roy Hodgson, the worst manager in the world today, possibly the worst to have ever stained the game, has managed to get Fulham to the final of that. (Roy lost but that's what he does, for 37 loooonnngg years)

Re: Premier League 2012-2013
This report in the Telegraph says the great negotiator Levy got it wrong and missed out on signing Moutinho by minutes, no doubt holding out for a reduced price whereas Porto were having none of that for their own reasons!

Re: Premier League 2012-2013
Over the seasons we have heard continually that Arsene Wenger has sold his best players, some due to player greed, some to players wanting to win trophies and some because he wanted them away. How many of those who left went on to become better players.
