Cole was arguably the best left back in the world when he left us for the roubles of chelski.
Fabregas is still quality but just another player in the barca team.
Nasri isn't exactly the shining light in man c's team is he?[/quote]

I can't believe your comments! :?

Many still regard Cole as the finest left back, Fabregas is a star turn and being just another player at Barca can hardly be derogative, can it? As for Nasri, always strikes me as playing really well for Citeh and importantly, all three have progressed their careers, the reason all three left and Van Persie as well!

Absolutely! Most of us look to enhance whatever pittance we may be on by changing jobs, plus they have the advantage of becoming integral players in tropy winning sides!

Just as Cole said after he won the euro cup last year! :thumb:

7 years since the Arse won any Trophy...Good enough reason to leave methinks...

Poor old footballers, earning such a pittance

Like i said, if we were able to spend the inflated amounts on transfers & wages that chelsk, man c & manure do, we'd win (buy  ) trophies on a regular basis. :|
Especially if we didn't have to worry about generating any money & could operate at a massive loss year in year out

My original question was how many players who have left Arsenal have become better players. The ones mentioned were very good players who have remained just that, very good, not better.

Thats probably fair comment and lets be honest, many gave good and fair service to the Arse - Cole and Fabregas in particular. I actually think its reached a 'final end game' with Wenger who surely must achieve something this year, in the form of winnning a trophy? Early days yet, but Steve Boulds promotion seems a sensible move.

Whilst watching the Liverpool/Arsenal match on tv I heard the ground announcer give some sort of Anfield security alert. Now I read that 4 Arsenal fans were arrested inside the ground for murdering a 33 year old Liverpool fan. Was there a connection? And where is 33 year old Baa Baa? Come on BB give us a sign.

I've been busy, Meh, we lost, don't think we were any where near as bad or Arsenal anywhere near as good as is being suggested. We just haven't got a clinical finisher, we've cleared the wage bill though so that's all good.

My point with Arsenal players, as said by Caller, they've furthered their careers, playing in, but ultimately doing nothing in the Champions League isn't something to show the Grandkids.

Bluenoses, gotta love em. They forget we actually smashed them 3 times in their 3 cup finals last year, won a Cup (they haven't for 17 years) AND qualified for the Europa League.

Everton finished above us in 2005, remember 2005?

I remember it well, Everton really kicked on from there didn't they?

I've also said many of times about the league table, it didn't even used to be printed at this point. In isolation they're hardly season defining results. I'd take ours over Spurs anyway.

BTW Arcadian, the murder was in the evening/early hours and all 5 were Londoners. It wasn't connected with Football apart from the fact the 5 were probably up for the game.

And I've only just turned 32 ya cheeky git.

We also finished above you in 2012, remember 2012? Lets see what this season brings? 24 years without a league and likely 24 more. Deluded reds, love it.

We don't think we are going to win the league though, we do however consistently win trophies by almost any clubs standards.

Finishing above Everton isn't an achievement for Liverpool, it's the norm.

Have Everton had their stand varnished this year or was it over budget?

Fact of the day for ya blue, since 2000 Liverpool have won more knockout cups than any other team in England.

AVB's already upset his new French keeper by publicly saying Friedel is No.1! Clearly wasn't told that before he signed and if it ain't so, then I guess Friedel will be upset? Doesn't seem he's learnt too much from last year, when the Chelsea players as a group, had concerns about his communication skills, or lack of.
