LAWN BOWLING CLUB COMING SOON TO HUA HIN
HI Members, I am currently in the process of establishing a brand new lawn bowling green in HUA HIN on an established resort with all modern facilities, including a bar, quality accommodation and restaurant.
Members and guests can also enjoy all the other resort facilities including swimming pool and tennis.
This is not crown green or the currently available ten-pin bowling.
Any feedback or interest will be gratefully accepted.
Also, we will be looking for additional lawn bowling equipment for visitors.
Anyone with any questions, comments, advice is welcome

Re: LAWN BOWLING CLUB COMING SOON TO HUA HIN
sign me up for when i'm here, was considering building an all-weather full size rink for retirement but if there is a green here i'll head down a few days per week - i have a couple of set of bowls with me (Taylor internationals and Drakes Pride both 5Heavy's).
Have played extensively back in the UK but not seriously the past 10years, did play a few games when lived in Pattaya, and the wife and myself played down in Phuket. Because there is no bowls here i ended up playing golf, but bowls is better crack if there is competitions on the go.

Christ! I'm trembling over the excitement of watching codgers rolling balls in slow mo. Makes cricket seem dynamic.
Count me out.
Count me out.

Bowling used to be an "older persons" game and it was starting to die away in popularity,so in australia they introduced barefoot bowling on sunday afternoons,no shoes ,casual clothes and now its become a trendy way to spend a sunday arvo, few beers, good food and entertainment with your mates and girlfriends, nice way to finish off the weekend.

You can count me in - its a good game requiring craft and skill and being outside, not too physically demanding such as tennis and most other ball games

I see a lot of Thai's play a type of bowls on the sand. Rather than rolling it they throw it as close to the target as possible. There are places dotted all over Bangkok with them playing. Competition days held in some temples can get quite rowdy! Looks like fun anyway.
I'm sure many Thai's would like to give lawn bowls a shot.

I haven't played it since I was a kid on holiday in Sutton-on-Sea during the early seventies but I can imagine it could be fun.

I played a few times at school on our indoor course/rink/track whatever its called. Its a very skillful game and not as easy as it looks, i reckon it could be a good giggle with some grub, a few beers and a few hundred baht riding on it!
