Yes, quite staggering revelations today, especially in respect of Police corruption and the Mirror article was right to say it was a disaster waiting to happen that finally, tragically came at Hillsbrough - as anyone who went to the packed stadiums then knew. They even used to lock us into the trains!

Another myth that was destroyed today is that the Govt. of the day and Thatcher in particular were implicit in a cover-up, which was clearly not the case.

It will be intreasting to see what calls the Attorney General makes once he's read the report?

I still think she was involved, Football fans, especially Northern ones aren't a Tory favourite.

Today's admittance deserves a new thread Caller but I won't start it.

Probably be accused of bringing something up that should have been brushed under the carpet.

Got to say fairplay to David Cameron today, and following twitter, football fans in general, particularly United and Everton.
Still the odd "96 wasn't enough" bellends though.

I think you should acccept the evidence and conclusions. They're pretty far reaching and with no holds barred. I'm downloading the full report now.

Edit - the panel were completely independent -

The members of the Hillsborough Independent Panel were announced by Alan Johnson, then Home Secretary, on 26 January 2010.1 They were: The Right Reverend James Jones, the Bishop of Liverpool (Chairman), Raju Bhatt, Christine Gifford, Katy Jones, Dr Bill Kirkup CBE, Paul Leighton CBE, QPM, Professor Phil Scraton, Peter Sissons, Sarah Tyacke CBE.

I haven't read the full report, I'm currently watching the full press conferences (all available free on LiverpoolFC.TV)

Watched as much live as I could today at work, including the house of commons.

I'm off to HH on Friday so I'll save the report for reading material.

If you're interested there was a great/sad documentary the other night that's available on ITV player.

Yeah, I've got that documentray saved to view later.

Have a good trip to HH, I'm hoping to get there at Christmas.

If anyone's interested, the full reports here (389 pages):

http://www.official-documents.gov.uk/do ... 1/0581.pdf

Official documents viewed here - already looked a few Police statements. some are very haunting, the first is designed as a character assassination on Liverpool supporters:

Early days I know, but the "experts" wondered how Arsenal would cope without RVP and with a suspect defence. Well the best goal difference so far has given them a bit of a clue.

I hate QPR with a vengance, nowt to do with the current nonsense, but with the backers of a scrawny back street club a few years back who tried to screw mine. I couldn't even give a toss that the nonentity called Ferdinand, Anton refused to shake hands with Terry and Cole, presumably because the latter is a 'choc ice', I cannot think of any other reason he would not do so? So I await the FA investigation that we all know will never happen, but what I really cannnot accept, is that the referee today was really neutral? Whyever else was Mr. Bernstein, our bumbling FA head honcho in the crowd for, apart from ensuring things went smoothly which included managing his managers mouth, who sat sullenly beside him and presiding over a referee, who come hell and high water, was never going to give Chelsea the two penalties they so obviously deserved.

This is the same man who reluctantly made an apology to Liverpool and only after prompting, for the fact Hillsborough was not fit for purpose to stage a seni-final and didn't even have a safety certificate.

I wish him all the worst and an early kick in the goolies to see him on his way.

Did we get a super slow motion, multiple angle, press the red button, comes with its own theme tune handshake?

Pullis, the leg-breakers friend, said yesterday that Peter Crouch getting a goal when there was an obvious handball was "brilliant". Any other manager would have said, we had a bit of luck. Repulsive character.
