Which model is it Richard? Can you post more detail please. I'm looking out for a new mobile and wasn't really considering anything so flash but if the price and spec are right might go up market! and my 'courier' will be there by December.

Best Google it mags. Lot's of detail there. One thing I particularly liked is the camera function

Yes it looks a good sturdy build, and not too wide. Unfortunately I think for me the big downfall would be that keypad!
I have tried using another phone with the virtual QWERTY and really can't hack it at all. Because for those of us dinosaurs who were brought up to touch type it isn't a traditional QWERTY key pad layout at all - everything is in the wrong place! I also use predictive text fast - which seems a no no with the N8 - so it's quite likely it would end up going through the window I'm afraid.
So thanks anyway Richard and good luck with it. Meanwhile I'll chunter off (again) cursing all phone makers to hell and back for not getting keypads right, and have another drool at the JCB.
