Second hand motorbikes

Post by Pleng »

Didn't know if this belongs here or in ask the expats.

Are there any shops around that sell second hand (preferably nearly-new 6-12 months) motorbikes. Well, scooters. Scoopy's - that kind of thing?

I'm not sure if they still do but the Honda shop opposite Somtawin School used to have second hand motorbikes in there. This was 4 or 5 years ago though.

If anything like China, I'd tread cautiously in buying a second hand scooter/motorbike - certainly the way they are treated/maintained here.......

That's why I'm looking for one that's nearly new :D

I'll probably just end up buying new but, you know, I hate the smell of 20,000 worth of baht notes burning up as soon as I leave the show room...

The corner shop diagonally opposite Soi 156, i.e. the corner of Petchkasem and the road that leads to Paknampran.
They normally have a stock of 20+ second-handbikes at any time.
Bought a Fino from them for the gf a couple of years back and have never had a problem.
They didn't have the colour she wanted at first, but got me one within a couple of weeks.

Quite new on the forum but has been down for the last six years every winter and looked for used bikes. My feeling is that dealers don't have many to offer and normally it's also a fixed price no matter how old they are or how many kilometers they have under the belt. Price is normally around plus 20' THB plus a few extras in order to get them registered in your name. So, all in all, if you're down for a month or so every winter, renting is, in my opinion the best offer.

Good idea, You can rent from me a fairly new well maintained bike for a reasonable price.
