ADSL: rates and providers

Post by dahobbit »

Returning to HH next month, and ready to hook up a faster spigot for my computer.

Can someone tell me who the provider or providers are, rates, and where to contact them.

Thanks

The best place to go is the TT&T shop opposite Salesian School on Petchkasem road. They will give you a range of packages from JI, KSC, CS etc.

If your in bangkok in pantip plaza you can buy unlimited internet for less than half price.
Buy 1 card get one free.
Ksc sanook card.
I've seen them selling for the last 3 months.
A 30 day card cost 296 baht and one 30 day card free also.
If you walk in the front door of pantip and look up ahead on the 2nd or 3rd floor in front of that big supmarket shop that sells everything near where all the talking dictionarys sell.
It's sanook 1222 number.

Thanks, but that's dial-up. I've been doing that for the last year. I'm looking for ADSL or other high-speed access.

ADSL Rates

Post by buksida »

These are only TT&T rates so you need their phone line which costs around 4,000 baht to put in. I don't have any current prices for TOT.

Ji-Net - 256/128 DSL plus (Unlimited) - 3,500 per month
Ji-Net - 512/256 DSL plus (unlimited) - 6,000 per month
KSC - 256/128 Consumer DSL (unlimited) - 4,500 per month
KSC - 512/256 Consumer DSL (unlimited) - 7,500 per month
CS Lox - 256/128 DSL Advance (unlimited) - 1,500 per month
CS Lox - 256/128 DSL Pro (unlimited) - 4,500 per month
CS Lox - 512/256 DSL Pro (unlimited) - 7,500 per month

These are ALL shared IP. You also need to purchase the ADSL USB modem.

Hi,
They are just different providers, their service may vary slightly but I don't have experience with all of them to tell you which is best. You should go into the TT&T shop to enquire, the prices will probably have changed also.

ADSL Hua Hin

Post by buksida »

They are available at most places but for the ones above you MUST have a TT&T telephone line, you can't use them with TOT lines.

Quality of service and speed will probably drop the further away you are from town center as the standard of telephone line decreases (this applies also to dial-up modem connections).

OK thanks. I will be looking for a rental house, but have no idea about where yet. Guess I better check the location with TT&T before any decision made... Eric

I'm not familiar with that deal personally. Those speeds you quoted seem a bit strange.
