I do not recall watching the race on this new track in India, but evidently it is well regarded by all concerned, including the drivers.

BUT, why oh why is the pit lane exit so close to a right bend in the track. There were a couple of close encounters in yesterdays race, and I believe it is only a matter of when, not if, there is a serious crash on that corner leading to a fatality. :?

Good score jjbones but I think we are to far behind RZR and Parahandy to catch them.
The have made some good forecasts.

Vettel starts last due to penalty for not enough gas in his tank for a sample after qualifying. :banghead: I can predict now who our top scores are going to be this week.....and it ain't me! :( Pete

Raikkonen upset our apple cart this week resulting in low scoring for everyone. Big Boy had the best race with 7.8 points, and Terry second with 7.5. I think the highest finish for both this season?

Our top 4 are RZR, Parahandy, JJ Bones and Pitsch. RZR is going to be hard to catch with only two races left. The battles will probably be between JJ Bones and Pitsch for 3rd and 4th, Lindosfan, Vital Spark and Big Boy for 5th, 6th and 7th, and Terry and Pharvey for 8th and 9th. I was vying for the wooden spoon, but big thanks to JW as he's stopped playing. :D

A weekend off now and then the USA in Austin, Texas on November 18th. Good luck to all. :thumb: Pete

1 - redzonerocker 144.75
2 - Parahandy 140.50
3 - JJBones 135.00
4 ▲ 1 pitsch 134.50
5 ▼ 1 lindosfan 134.25
6 - Vital Spark 133.50
7 - BigBoy (Yellow Cap) 133.25
8 ▲ 1 Terry 129.75
9 ▼ 1 pharvey 129.75
10 - Richard 127.50
11 - Pete 124.75
12 - JW 97.00

The look on Alonso's face on the podium was one of realization that there's no way he can win this championship now.

Vettel started from the pitlane and only finished 1 place behind him!

A very entertaining and exciting race--spoiled on TV by the curry munching commentator! Love him or hate him, Steve Slater does a much better job without the grating voice, and self appointed "expert" comments. At least on this occasion he did reduce his use of the stupid comment, "put the hammer down". I suspect that he is only there because of some connection with the Indian owners / promoters of the last race. :cuss: Rant over!

Webber pulled his usual trick of losing the race at the start line! Time and time again he has either been on pole, or in the front lineup, and time and time again he has failed to maintain his position when the lights change.
What can be said about Vettel? From starting last to the podium-- I believe it has only ever been achieved once before in the history of F1. :neener:

I actually think Chandhock is a pretty good colour commentator, though I'm aware I'm pretty much alone in this view.

Steve Slater isn't that bad, really. What I don't understand is why they don't take the Sky commentary feed, and didn't take BBC's before that. Every station is entitled to it, free of charge. Why pay 2-3 guys per race to do a worse job than something you can have for free? Having Alex Young monitoring the radios, which has been going on for the last two races now I believe, means you do at least finally get a feel for what's actually happening in the race, but it's still nowhere near as good as the Sky coverage (which in turn isn't as good as BBCs was before that)

Pleng I have to say that Steve Slater is so bad its frightening, he has no forsight for a race, he says the same things every race... he is a numpty....quite simply ....crap, he makes me want to curl up and cry. If he bothered to listen to those around him he might leran something!
I streamed a couple of races this season and got lucky to get the old BBC team who all work for Sky Sports now, Brundle, Hill, Cravitz and Anthony Davidson these are proper guys who have raced and undersr=tand whats going on and can give ideas on strategy and a trie insight for the viewer. Problem with the streaming coverage is that it seemed to scrambled before the race finished! :thumb:

Agreed
Slater is a total twat - really don't know how or why he is there. Leave it to the ex racers or the technical boys - they know what's going on.

Now - as for Murray Walker.....................he was something else

I've been rewatching some of the old seasons. Murray's commentary doesn't stand the test of time. Since he retired we've been treated to commentators who generally get things right, and actually inform us on what's going on without causing confusion. Murray's ramblings were comical at the time, I remember well regarding him as a legend. But now I find trying to piece together what he's trying to say just frustrating. I'm sure it would be even more frustrating in live races in this day and age.

Of course it didn't help that the general coverage in the 90s was appalling, back in the days where each country was responsible for directing the video feed at their circuit.

Best commentary team ever IMHO was Brundle & Coulthard. Shame it only lasted a year! After that James Allen & Brundle. And the current SKY team of David Croft and Brundle is probably the third best. But it's pretty much Brundle carrying that pairing.
