Pressure washers

Post by HHTel »

In the UK I was able to hire pressure washers. They were wonderful for patio tiles etc. Cut through the grime like a hot knife through butter. Don't know what the pressure was but had a warning not to use on cars.
There are no tool hire shops here but Home-pro have pressure washers for sale for something under 5k baht. The pressure is stated as 120 bar.
Does anyone have any experience of these? Are they powerful enough to turn weathered tiles and stone walls into looking like new?

I haven`t used the units that you refer to, but at one time part of my job was trying to keep these things running. 120 Bar is around 1,800 psi, so may be enough for home use. A better quality unit will cost around 12k Baht, and put out a lot more pressure.

I've just googled the Karcher hd650 and it says that the pressure is variable from 10 to 100 bar and they're over 700 quid!! The cheaper ones in Homepro are 120 bar (less than 100 quid).
Now I'm really confused.

Variable is best but surprising that the cheaper model claims to be higher than K'Archer unless they use different methods of measurement.

Not sure where that figure came from, but all the 650 models listed here show 20-150 bar.

With Karchers it should not be a problem getting spare parts for them. The cheap Chinese units are probably ok for occasional home use, but from what I experienced with them they do not last very long.
