"Admitted Until" stamp date in passport

Post by ric »

I have a Non-Imm O-A Visa issued 3 May 2011. And a multiple re-entry stamp with a "length of stay" date of 28 March 2013 in my passport.
I left Thailand 12 Sep 2012 due to some family issues back in the US and to spend the holidays here. I will be returning to Thailand 21 March 2013. ( My first order of business on returning will be to go to Thai Immigration to seek a one year extension of my Visa).
I believe I will be permitted re-entry into Thailand but I'm wondering what the "admitted until" date on the entry stamp will be. 28 Mar 2013 ?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this issue.

From the dates, I assume you originally had a multi-entry OA visa and have been using the second year that gives, hence needing a re-entry permit for your current trip abroad.
If that's the case, then you should be admitted back in until 28th Mar 2013. You'll only have a week to organise your extension which is OK as long as you're prepared. If you have any doubts that you can do things in that time period I'd be inclined to get a single entry Non O whilst home and that'll give you 90 days on entry so more time.

Yes Lomuamart, I originally did have a multi entry o-a visa. As a matter of fact, I went to Thai Imm BKK last May (2012) to renew my o-a visa, but since I had an "admitted until" date of 28 Mar 2013 stamped in my passport from an entry into Thailand, the Immigration Lady told me I did not need to renew my o-a visa. Just purchase a re-entry permit.
I'll be prepared with all needed to apply for an extension and show up a couple of days early at Thai Imm BKK.
Thanks very much for your reply.

Not sure where you live but if it's in HH then the extension must be done here not in BKK.

Yes, I'm aware of that. I live in BKK. Thanks again for your info. It's really appreciated.
