Some newspapers are speculating which of four clubs, Man U Man C Chelsea and Arsenal will move for Mourinho and Guardiola. Why would either of them go to a club with a trigger-happy meglomaniac like Abramovich in charge of team selection, Jose should know better.
Does Fergie have any plans to retire? Man C are not yet a "big club" but may suit Jose who like to spend big, have no consideration for youth deveopment, win something and move on. God only knows what`s happening at Arsenal, still threatening to spend big but never getting roound to it. I dont think Wenger likes to bring in "superstars" who may disrupt the dressing room but prefers to have promising players he can mould into his way of playing (hasn`t worked for a few years now though).

The reasons why they might go to Chelsea have pound signs attached to them.
Arsenal might be a good bet, though, if the owners are willing to spend some money. They've been under-performing for years now, and getting them back to the very top would be a real feather in someone's cap.

Actually, I suspect that cap could be Wenger's if he didn't have that bizarre aversion to spending someone else's money...

I suspect anyone taking over from Ferguson is onto a loser from the word go. It'll be a brave man or a very big ego.

As Arcadian points out, he just needs to win stuff for or 3 years with the leagues biggest budget, sod youth development or the aftermath.

Guardiola, as much as I like the man himself is pretty much an unknown entity in management, it was 90% the fruition of a longterm project why Barca are so good, this new guy ain't doing badly.

If Fergie doesn't retire this year and Pep and Mourinho take the City and Chelsea jobs between them then none will end up at United, don't think either will fancy the Arsenal job personally unless they are offered huge funds.

Guardiola MAY fancy the Arsenal job as a project, if promised decent time and reasonable budget, great club for a decent humble bloke. Seems the best match IMO.

Arsenal are getting into Liverpool territory, but a less prestigious club with a seemingly lesser transfer budget.
