I know you shouldn't have to, but as it could be a longish journey for many people, it would be worth calling first to check whether they are open.

Hi Bee - Can the sausages be vacuum packed? Could well be interested in taking a few Kg's back to China if the Long Haired General doesn't do TOO much shopping!!

Probably as legal as me bringing them here from the UK (in the past) but that's what I have done.

As long as vacuum packed, I've not had a problem in the 10 years or so I've brought food in to China. I've also brought in vacuum packed meat to Thailand over the past 3 or 4 years since we've had a property here ( [EDIT] sorry THERE - wishful thinking  ) with no problems.

Just had a very enjoyable meal there with a good friend who uses the place regularly.

Excellent platter of a variety of sausages, mash and onion gravy all washed down with a glass of excellent red wine. The place was packed

They even rustled up a real Isaan som tam (too hot to smell, let alone eat) take away for a visiting friend from Khon Kaen. So I've earned some brownie points

For those on the forum who have never tried it, it is well worth the trek

My personal favourite though is the pea soup. A starter to die for IMO
