I've checked the system's back end, and nobody here has deleted anything.

Big Boy,.

sorry! I was sure I was the first to reply to the Fishing Lodge announcement, posting an identical message.

I may have forgotten to submit the post, scatterbrained as I am.

Never mind!

Hi,

Fishing Lodge looks great. At least we won't get sand in our shoes.

Lev wrote:The gathering will be a beach afternoon affair, those that want to go bar hopping later are welcome.

Date is likely to fall between Dec 27 and Jan 15.

We also need to decide which stretch of beach is most convenient for access, parking, food/bev, toilets so suggestions welcome.
I will be there between 9-15, hope that i can join this. Congratulation on 10 years party

Best regards

Lev wrote:Due to difficulties finding a good beach venue that ticks all the boxes in high season we are going for the second most popular option which is the Fishing Lodge.

We just need to finalise the date now which will be Dec 27-30 or after Jan 5th.

For those that will attend a gathering at the FL what date would you prefer? Obviously we cannot please everyone so this will need to be a majority decision.

I have to admit I was perplexed by this too. What boxes are there to tick with a beach venue?

Sand; check
Sea; check

...?

Parking
Seating
Sound system
Adequate toilet facilities
Entertainment for kids
Food/Bev that wont break the bank

We could go on - and yes we could just roll up and sit in the sand but some would prefer something a little more civilised so we decided to support one of our sponsors instead of some random over-priced tourist beach restaurant. There will always be life's whingers and nitpickers and you cant please everyone so those not happy do not need to go or post anymore on this thread. Those that are, thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you.

Date is likely to fall on Jan 2nd or 5th.
