Hello everyone,
I have met a Chinese gal and she would like to visit me when I return to Thailand in a few months. She will be flying in from Shanghai.
Would prefer her to stay for 60 days (since I can stay that long on 1 tourist visa) but from what I have read there are only 2 options:
1) she can get a visa-on-arrival but that only gives her 15 days with no extension possible
or
2) apply for a 30 day visa at the Thai embassy in China which will give her 30 days and she might be able to get a short extension of 7(?) days? (She would have a return plane ticket in hand)
The only thing that comes to mind to extend her stay is to leave with her (maybe to Laos) after her 30 days are over and then return overland to get 15 more days. Although I would guess she would need to get another Thai visa in Laos to return.
On another note, she has a passport already (but has never used it yet) but I am wondering is there might be any unexpected issue when she tries to leave China. Does she need "permission" from the PSB (public security bureau) or something similar? She is 23yrs old.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
best visa options for a Chinese national?
Re: best visa options for a Chinese national?
Another option would be to have her join the tourist police and get her a twelve month volunteer visa.
Worked out great form my SH GF.

Hi wenshidi,
Can't say I have heard of that option before. Can you provide and more details?
Thanks.
