These networks, Visa and MasterCard are the only systems that work consistently and regularly worldwide. (Cost of use is a different subject).I have been travelling frequently around Asia for the last 25 years and carry credit cards for both to ensure that I do not get stuck.
So far, in my experience, Visa is the most widely accepted in most every county followed by, a country mile , MasterCard. For those with Amex, your life must be a misery
The same storey for ATM cards and debit Cards….Visa is has the highest acceptance IMHO
