Disposing of unwanted clothes

I have some unwanted gents' pants and shirts in wearable condition. Are there any charity shops around here and will they collect unwanted items?

No charity shops but you don't need to walk very far to find people in need of charity, and i am sure it will be well received.

I take all my old clothes and my families and give them away in my wife's Issan village i believe in a more direct approach to charity in the UK rather than these collection bags on your doorstep every week the the charity see's very little from, or these rich charity's that the government also tax.

2nd hand clothes, shoes, etc. are available all over the place. I don't think they're targeted at farang.

All of the poorer Thai families that I know are happy to receive clothes that are in good condition.

I've found that the term "Thai People" in most conversations can be substituted for "I". The amount of time I have Thai people telling me that "Thai people never..." or "Thai people don't..." or even "Thai people always...", I've learned to take it with a pinch of salt.

What the person in question usually means is that either their select group of friends hold that view, or that they themselves hold the view and, in either case, assume that because they/their circle hold this opinion, then they represent the entire of Thailand.

Mind you, I don't think that's specific to Thailand. The amount of time's I hear people say "Us Brits...." and I'm all like "who hold on a minute... I certainly DON'T...."
