Magic of vinegar on auto paintwork

Post by usual suspect »

When I bought my truck it had cement-splatters on the sills..a quick search on Google revealed that good old vinegar applied & allowed to soak in will break down the cement. Yes it did.. :)
Well having still got some left in my 'squirty bottle' I proceeded to coat the back wheel of my m/cycle prior to cleaning off all the chain-lube that had been flung.
Lordy-lordy..the vinegar worked a treat..15mins later Scotch-brite & soapy water had all the oil/lube off my (white) wheel. :thumb:
Also good for tar-spots on your car's sills.
Squirty bottle was 29B, & vinegar about 18B from Tesco Express..worthy investment me thinx

1001 uses for white distilled vinegar:

Looks like you can use vinegar for a myriad of applications. The one that I like most is

"Stop a dog from barking with a spray bottle filled with equal amounts of water and white distilled vinegar. When the dog barks, spray the vinegar water in its direction but not in the face" :D

Now, where can I hire one of those flower bed watering trucks and get 2,000 liters of cheap vinegar to do my bit to stop those soi dogs barking at all hours??

As I have mentioned in past posts wife uses vinegar for cleaning many things. Removing mould and steralising work surfaces.
Better than Windex for cleaning glass when used with old newspaper.

I have used coke in the past when cleaning a heavy gauge twisted copper cable on my old trucks starter, prior to soldering. It had the black death but after 10 mins soaking came up bright a shiny. Think what it does to your innards.

Soak a clogged shower head in a vinegar and water solution in a bucket or pan for a couple of hours and all the holes will open and start spraying like when it was new.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Do let me know if you find out. I shall gladly do the spraying if you drive the truck. Perhaps we could add a neutering agent to the vinegar.
